it is.
I would agree with this. You treat people good, and you help brighten their day, and your disposition improves as well. However, be wary of the users. There are plenty of them out there. Bosses who ask for favors when you are off duty, women who expect a free meal, bums who focus on certain individuals because they helped them in the past. Get these toxic people out of your life. If you allow them to use you, you are not helping them.
It does pay to be neighborly to people who don't expect it from you. You develop a good reputation, and make more social contacts. But please, do it on your own terms, not theirs.
