99 Rules for men - Part 42

42. Rebel from business casual. Burn your khakis and wear a suit or jeans.

This rule goes with the idea that you need to pick one side or the other. As Mr. Myagi told Daniel, "If you walk the middle of the road, you get squished, like a bug".  Whatever you do, do it intentionally. If you want to look professional, look professional. If you want to be casual, go casual.

Same goes for other areas of life. Be intentional about your actions. If you want a good woman, do what it takes to get one, but don't cry that your social life is non-existent. If you want a plethora of skanky whores, do what it takes to get them, but don't complain that they are all skanky whores. If you want big money, do what it takes to get it, but don't complain that you are working 70+ hours per week. If you want to be a bum, go ahead, but don't complain that you receive a bum's wages.

Business casual is pulling the minimum of the professional look, which will not stand out. Half-axxing stuff never does.
