WBF Season III: Toxic Masculinity
Well gentleman, it is 18 days until the program starts. The entire 28 week program is written, the diet laid out and the underlying philosophy created. Owing the the work of J.Nyx, the book has been made into a .PDF and a .MOBI so you can look at it on your phone or with your kindle app and he is also working on getting it into the Jefit app.
I am back in the gym dusting off the cobwebs and it hurts like hell. If you are going to start on 2/18 with us, I recommend you start getting some work in now so you can get used to your schedule and remind your muscles that they are there for something other than feeding yourself and jerking off.
18 days. Can you feel it? I feel energized and excited. 18 Days.
So I would like to take this time to talk to you briefly about our new season. Season 1 was just J.Nyx working with me. It was piece meal and for most of the season this site didn’t even exist. Still, we spoke on telegram, encouraged one another, gave tips, told jokes and most importantly got our gainz.
Season II: Repetitive Action Performed Energetically, the RAPE program, we picked up several new people all over the country and in other countries and we honed the program. One of the many flaws I noticed was that I was scrambling to get the next phase out all the time. But, we all got our gains…all of which laid out in the Season Recap which I recommend you all re-read to get your blood pumping. With this in mind, over the off season I created a comprehensive 127 page book outlining all of the WB Fitness workouts, the diet, form notes and the underpinning philosophies which guide us as a team and, indeed, as men (speak to J.Nyx for your copy).
So here we are, season III and this year the program is called Toxic Masculinity. The WBF: Toxic Masculinity is not for everyone. This is 6 days a week of lifting and cardio coupled with a diet and a focus that comes from a special breed of gym goer. This is not just a diet and a work out. You can get that shit on Bodybuilding.com (Arnold’s Blueprints, Jim Stoppani’s plans and Kris Gethin’s DTP are all suitable if you just want to get into the gym and get into shape a little). If you make the commitment to the WB Fitness program you will be joining a great group of guys who will become your friends and your brothers, will have advice when you hit plateau’s or have injuries or just don’t feel right. The wealth of knowledge, strength and camaraderie is something I never would have imagined coming together and, to be honest, it has made all of us better.
So along with 6 days a week of absolutely grueling workouts that are split up into 8 phases over the course of 28 weeks and a tight diet which will feed those workouts, I want to mention briefly the X factor…the thing that makes WB Fitness different. We are guided by an overarching set of principles. This season, Toxic Masculinity, we are going to show ourselves and those around us the meaning of strength and power. It isn’t just about going to the gym, follow instructions and leave. There is a lot more that goes into what we are doing here.
Everywhere I look I see hostility towards the bald aggression and raw strength that are keystones of masculinity. We have been civilized, and while that suits us we are still, deep in our dinosaur mind, warriors and we need an outlet for that. I encourage all of you not to let the cues you get from our modern society get in the way of your aggressive inner beast.
Let’s start with the gym. If it is called for, grunt. Anyone who complains about it is welcome to deadlift 3x their body weight in silence. If it upsets someone, fuck them. Keep your Gorilla Walk on point inside and outside of the gym. Express your strength, your dominance and impose your will on the world around you. We are not merely going to the gym to get into shape, not eating to keep lean we are doing something much, much different. We are going to find levels of strength that we forgot we had and which we are told, all too often, need suppressing. It is time, gentleman, to embrace your Toxic Masculinity.
In the meantime, my DOMS are setting in and I am going to be paying the price the next 6 weeks or so for what I want. When you guys are having trouble standing up, your muscles are burning, your body is rejecting the weights, you are in pain from head to toe….when you feel that make a mental note. At some point this spring someone will, as they always do, call you lucky and you can look at them, remember what price you paid for what you achieved and remind yourself that the lion pays no attention to the bleating noise that comes from the lamb.
18 days.
Get ready.
It may be cold today, but pretty soon it will be time to wear our beaters.
